About The Chief Gift Curator

The idea for my personalized gift basket business was born on an ordinary morning at the grocery store. As I wandered through the aisles, I stumbled upon a Thanksgiving display featuring eco-friendly salad bowls in a variety of pretty colors. The red one, in particular, caught my eye and sparked an idea: it was the perfect size and color for a Christmas gift basket. Not only would it make a beautiful presentation, but it would also eliminate the need for wrapping paper that often ends up discarded after the gifts are opened.

With the Covid pandemic casting a shadow over our lives, I wanted to bring some joy and fun to my stepson and stepdaughter and their partners during this holiday season. With more time on my hands due to staying home, I decided to create these Christmas baskets as a way to lift spirits and make the holiday experience special for them.

The baskets were a hit, and this success inspired me to create more for other occasions, particularly Easter. Each year, I crafted unique baskets with different themes, and the kids loved them. They often told me I had a talent and encouraged me to sell my creations on Etsy. However, with a full-time corporate job, I felt I couldn’t dedicate the time needed to start a business.
